Special Messege To Veterans!!!
As a veteran-owned business, I deeply understand the significance of Memorial Day, having lost brothers in combat. I want to leave you with this thought...
Many people thank me "for my service" on Memorial Day, believing it's a day to honor everyone who served. I no longer correct them, as most don't care about the nuances and may feel attacked if I try to clarify.
Memorial Day is not meant for thanking someone you meet. It is a day dedicated to recognizing and remembering all those who have passed away, especially those who died serving our country.
The general guideline is, if you're about to thank someone on Memorial Day and they can respond, then refrain. Save that for Veteran’s Day, on November 11th each year.
On Memorial Day, we honor, pray for, and respect the departed. Reach out to someone who lost a family member to old age or in conflict. Ask how they’re doing. If they’re not ready to talk, don’t insist. If they are, listen and empathize. Let them know you remember their loved one.
